Special representative of Kazakhstan held several meetings in Kyrgyzstan
BISHKEK. June 10. KAZINFORM /Yevgeny Novokov/ Special representative of the President of Kazakhstan on cooperation with Kyrgyzstan Bolat Utemuratov has met with President of Kyrgyzstan of the transitional period Roza Otunbayeva and Vice Chairman of the interim government Temir Sariev.
Issues regarding cooperation within preparation for a referendum on adoption of the country's new constitution, social and economic problems as well as the upcoming tourist season were discussed at the meeting.
The Kazakh side expressed readiness to render necessary assistance to Kyrgyz people living in Kazakhstan for participation in the referendum.
B. Utemuratov reported on the measures taken in response to request from Kyrgyz side regarding opening checkpoints at Kyrgyz-Kazakh border and increasing the range of consumer goods delivered through the checkpoints.
Besides, the special representative of Kazakhstan met with Vice Chairman of the interim government of Kyrgyzstan and Minister of Finances Timir Sariev on June 9.
The parties discussed the issues on strengthening bilateral relations and economic problems.
T. Sariev noted that strengthening economic partnership and alliance with Kazakhstan was a priority for Kyrgyzstan.
