Special Envoy of Kazakh President visits Lithuania
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstani senator Ikram Adyrbekov paid a visit to Lithuania as the Special Envoy of the President of Kazakhstan, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh Senate's press service.
In Lithuania Mr. Adyrbekov had meetings with Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius, Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas Vydas Gedvilas, and Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications Rimantas Sinkevičius.
Kazakhstani MP handed Nursultan Nazarbayev's message to the Lithuanian Foreign Minister with the request to support Kazakhstan's bid to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2017-2018. During the bilateral meetings in Vilnius the sides touched upon prospects for development of Kazakhstani-Lithuanian cooperation in political and economic sectors. It was stressed that the two countries should step up trade and investment cooperation. Utmost attention was paid to inter-parliamentary ties between Kazakhstan and Lithuania during the meeting with Vydas Gedvilas.
