Sowing campaign may be delayed in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The sowing campaign may be delayed in Kazakhstan because of the recent excessive precipitation, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bozhko told at the CCS press conference.
"The Ministry of Agriculture informs the population about the current situation. The sowing campaign is delayed in Kostanay, North Kazakhstan and Akmola regions because of the recent heavy rains. The machines cannot operate on the fields. This will definitely delay the sowing campaign," he said.
"There is also a chance that the harvesting campaign will delay as well. Some regions might have to harvest with the snow on the ground like it was last year. Nevertheless, I think on Friday we expect about plus 30 degrees in Astana. It will help to dry the ground and allow to take all the machines to the fields," V. Bozhko noted.
