South Kazakhstan businessmen discussed formation of common customs tariff
SHYMKENT. September 30. KAZINFORM /Tatyana Pylayeva/ "Kazakhstan on the integration way to the world community" seminar held in Shymkent. Members of the local administration and businessmen of the region took part in the seminar. The event was organized by the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Center of development of the trade policy.
Issues of formation of the Customs Union, principals and rules of accession to the WTO, existing instruments of producer's protection in goods importing were discussed at the seminar. The businessmen were interested in the formation of the common customs tariff. A range of export oriented enterprises exists in the region. But the Russian market is not profitable for them now. The businessmen are sure that the establishment of the customs tariff will make Russian and Belarusian markets more attractive for them.
