Solar power plant to be built in Astana

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A solar power plant worth €55 million is set to be built in Astana.
The news was announced Wednesday at the first meeting of the EXPO-2017 international participants in Kazakhstan's capital. "Astana city administration is working on a project of solar plant construction with gross electricity output of 50 megawatts (MW). The project is in line with the presidential decree "On the concept of Kazakhstan's transition to ‘green economy'', head of EXPO-2017 directorate Mukhtar Gazizov said at the meeting. In his words, the plant will be constructed within the city limits and mainly at the expense of private investments. It is believed that the €55 million project will be commissioned in the 1Q of 2016.
