Social and Cultural Development Committee proposes to amend Labor Code

ASTANA. January 6. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Committee for Social and Cultural Development under the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament discussed a bill "On amendments to the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan" at its enlarged meeting on Friday.

According to Minister of Labor and Social Protection Gulshara Abdykalikova, who introduced the bill, it is aimed at improving the labor legislation in connection with the fact that some of provisions of the Labor Code, which has been in force for four years, need amendment. The Minister noted that the amendments are designed in accordance with the concept of legal policy of Kazakhstan until 2020, which stresses the need for international experience in labor laws.

The bill is to strengthen standards to prevent violations of labor rights, eliminate conflicting standards that lead to errors in their application. In addition, it is planned to remove unnecessary administrative procedures for the implementation by the participants of labor relations rights and obligations as a corruption factor.
