Snowfall, blizzard to batter Kazakhstan Feb 7
Kazhydromet forecasts unsteady weather with rain and snow in most parts of the country, due to the vast Scandinavian cyclone which will grip Kazakhstan today. Northwestern, northern regions will see heavy snowfall, and southern, southeastern regions will be hit by heavy precipitation, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Foggy and windy conditions are forecast across the country.
Met service also warns of black ice formation on the roads.
Gusting wind and snowstorm will batter northwestern, northern, southern and southeastern regions.
Wind speed in the daytime in the north of Aktobe region, south and east of Kostanay region, west, north and east of Akmola region, south and east of the North Kazakhstan region, in mountainous districts of Zhambyl region, and in mountain passes of Turkistan region may exceed 30 meters per second.
