Situation in Kyrgyzstan identified need in effective international mechanisms of prevention and resolution of conflicts - Kanat Saudabayev
HKENT. May 24. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ The situation in brotherly Kyrgyzstan identified the urgent need in effective international mechanisms of prevention and resolution of conflicts. OSCE Chairperson-on-Office, Kazakh Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev has announced it at the session of the SCO Foreign Ministers' Council.
Expressing concern over the situation in Kyrgyzstan, he noted that the SCO should more actively use the political-diplomatic instrument for settlement of such situations in its area of responsibility .
According to K.Saudabayev, in these purposes the SCO should closer interact with other international structures.
"The SCO could initiate providing humanitarian assistance to Bishkek by the Organization's member states. We propose to hold a meeting of experts of the emergencies ministries for consultations on the corresponding legal base and mechanisms of providing such assistance", K.Saudabayev said.
He noted that the "Kyrgyz issue" could become one of major directions of activity of the SCO Centre on prevention and liquidation of emergencies which is suggested to be created on the territory of Kazakhstan.
