Shymkent-Urumqi direct flight to be launched from May 30
The new air route is called to simplify tourist and business trips, contributing to strengthening the ties between Kazakhstan and China, Kazinform News Agency reports.
From May 30, 2025, a new Shymkent-Urumqi flight is set to be launched. The flights will be operated twice a week: from Shymkent – on Tuesdays and Fridays, and from Urumqi – on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The flight will last for 2 hours and 20 minutes. The tickets are available for purchase from February 28.
Citizens of Kazakhstan are eligible for a visa-free entry to China for a period not exceeding 30 days. This applies to tourist and business trips, personal meetings and transit through airports.
Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan’s airlines are to add 120 more domestic and international flights to their schedule to meet demand ahead of the Nauryz holiday from 16 to 30 March, 2025.
