Shymkent oil refinery capacity likely to increase to 12 mln tons per year - Oil & Gas Minister

ASTANA. March 5. KAZINFORM Capacity of the Shymkent oil refinery can be increased to 12 million tons per year, Kazakh Minister of Oil and Gas Sauat Mynbayev told the Governmental Hour in the Majilis on Monday.
According to the Minister, the plant's capacity can be increased from 6 million to 12 million tons a year, since such an opportunity had been provided in the construction of the plant in the Soviet era.
"This will be a right decision, but we need to coordinate the issue with other ministries and state bodies," Mynbayev said.
