Shortcomings in Government's work to be eradicated: President Nazarbayev

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the importance of establishing effective work of the Presidential Administration in ideological, organizational and economic directions.

The President once against reminded that corresponding work should be done under all instructions given at the extended session of the Government on October 11.

"The administration should control the implementation of the state programs, find mistakes and determine further specific steps for effective implementation. Conclusions should be drawn from my harsh comments at the extended session [of the Government]. Each case should be looked into, accounted for and covered by mass media. What work has been done, who was punished. I demand every responsible person to work hard on the implementation of the programs and tasks to eradicate shortcomings in the work of the Government, ministries and agencies," the Head of State said.

In addition, the President of Kazakhstan stressed that work in the sphere of patriotic education and religious situation in the country is inefficient.

Nursultan Nazarbayev also emphasized it is necessary to improve the activity of the Presidential Administration in terms of monitoring and analysis of socioeconomic development of the regions.

"The public inspectors of the Presidential Administration do not handle the situation in the regions. They should know each governor of the region personally and have a good grasp of their work. It is their responsibility to be in touch with the situation. For instance, during my recent trip to western Kazakhstan the public inspector was out of touch with events. Perhaps, he is a newcomer. Nonetheless, they should have full information about the region, including achievements and drawbacks, problems and perspectives of the projects implemented in the region," the Kazakh leader pointed out.

Following results of the meeting the Head of State gave a number of specific instructions.
