Shooting of historical series about Jochi begins in Kazakhstan
Shooting of the international historic TV series titled The Golden Empire has started today at the pavilion of the Shaken Aimanov Kazakhfilm studio, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Presidential Initiatives Fund Dara.
According to the press service, the international project executed with the support of the Fund is set to become a large-scale cultural event combining historical accuracy and dramatic narrative.
The English language documentary series is being filmed by Karga Seven Pictures production company that is famous for Rise of Empires: Ottoman and Testament: The Story of Moses, that made it to the top 10 most-watched series on Netflix in more than 90 countries. TAURUS Asia Production acts as a local partner.
The shooting of The Golden Empire TV series began at 6:00am today, as Turkish film director Emre Şahin, producer Fikret Manoglu and producer from TAURUS Asia Production Anna Chakirtova gave their motivational speeches, congratulating the crew on the beginning of the shooting.

The series’ opening scene was shot at 9:10 in a 12-meter yurt, erected specially for the project. After the first successful take, the team broke a plate for luck to take smashed shards as a keepsake.
