Share of women in small and medium businesses makes 52% to date - Vice Chairman of Board of National Medical Holding B. Tutkushev

ASTANA. April 30. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Share of women employed in small and medium businesses of Kazakhstan makes 52% to date. Vice Chairman of Board of National Medical Holding JSC Beksultan Tutkushev said welcoming the participants of Business Road Map-2020: gender aspect roundtable held in the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection today.

"Our country gives special attention to dynamic development of small and medium businesses which in many respects is the major sphere of employment of women. Since 2000 investments in small business have risen nearly 23 times and made around KZT 1.5 trln in 2008", B. Tutkushev said.

Due to the measures taken for attraction of women in business the share of women working in this sphere makes 52%, among entrepreneurs this figure makes 66%. Last year Damu Entrepreneurship Support Fund adopted a 2009-2015 program on provision of micro-credits to women. KZT 450 mln was allocated for its implementation in 2009.
