In his remarks, SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev noted that the 25th anniversary of the SCO is a milestone symbolizing decades of dedicated work and a shared future-oriented vision of the Organisation’s member states, which has evolved from the “Shanghai Five” into the world’s largest transregional organisation.

The Secretary-General emphasized the unwavering commitment to the SCO’s guiding principles, based on the “Shanghai Spirit,” which enables member states to find consensus and move forward in a spirit of mutual trust and respect.

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi extended his congratulations to the Secretary-General and ambassadors of the SCO member states on behalf of the Chinese Government and expressed gratitude to international partners for their continued support of the Organization's development.

“Considering the SCO as one of  the priorities in building relations with neighboring countries, China is ready to share opportunities with SCO countries for the sake of cooperation and mutual benefit," the Chinese Foreign Minister emphasized.

In an interview with Qazinform, SCO Deputy Secretary-General Oleg Kopylov said that the Organization's 25th anniversary marks a significant milestone, during which it has achieved impressive results.

"Over the past quarter century, the SCO has transformed into the world's largest transregional association in terms of territory and population. Today, 29 ministerial mechanisms operate within the multidisciplinary structure, and cooperation covers nearly all key areas,” he noted.

Speaking about the SCO's short-term plans, Oleg Kopylov emphasized the continuity of the Organization's agenda. The vector toward sustainable development, shaped under the aegis of China, has steadily transitioned to the current chair, Kyrgyzstan. According to the Deputy Secretary General, this approach to key areas of cooperation will also be maintained during Pakistan's upcoming chairmanship.

On the sidelines of the reception, a photo exhibition highlighting the history of the Organization’s development, along with a presentation of the SCO Demonstration Base for Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training were organized. Guests were also offered a cultural program featuring a performance by a children’s art ensemble and a showcase of Chinese robotics capabilities.
