Spokesman of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs Askar Abdrakhmanov has announced it at a weekly briefing in Astana today.

According to his information, the number of students in Cairo is less than 100. A.Abdrakhmanov noted that they expressed a wish to stay in Cairo for various reasons, mostly personal.

According to him, the Kazakh Embassy in Cairo continues its functions nominally. 12 employees, including 7 diplomats and 5 technical staff members stay there.

"The Embassy established and maintains constant contact with our citizens who chose to remain in Egypt", A.Abdrakhmanov said.

"Hence the situation is still complicated, we recommend the citizens of Kazakhstan to refrain from trips to Egypt", he resumed.
