Seoul hosts VI Republic Korea - Central Asia Cooperation Forum
TASHKENT. July 6. KAZINFORM The VI "Republic Korea - Central Asia" Cooperation Forum took place in Seoul, Kazinform has learnt from Uzbekistan's MFA official website.
Members of governments and ministries and businessmen from the Republic of Korea, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan were in attendance. Kairat Sarybai, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, headed Kazakhstani delegation.
The participants of the forum congratulated each other on the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea and five Central Asian countries. They hailed bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the countries that embraced a wide spectrum of political, socioeconomic and cultural interaction.
The forum summed up results and evaluated the work done within five previous meetings. The sides agreed the forum gave an opportunity to discussed strengthening and further development of cooperation in various spheres, including IT, agriculture, medicine and healthcare, e-government system and economics.
Reps of the Republic of Korea and Central Asian countries also agreed that forum played the role of a platform where participants could find new projects to cooperate on.
During the forum those present exchanged views on the problems in the field of 'green technologies', medicine and healthcare.
It was also noted that the Republic of Korea and five Central Asian countries actively cooperated in such spheres as energy and natural resources, construction and infrastructure, science and technologies, medicine and healthcare, finance, textile, agriculture. It was agreed that all sides would bend efforts to expand and deepen the interaction in all sectors of cooperation.
According to the participants, the "Republic Korea - Central Asia" Cooperation Forum can become an effective mechanism in the strengthening of multilateral cooperation. They agreed they would continue close cooperation in order to ensure sustainable development of the forum that expanded horizons of cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Central Asia.
