Senate Speaker K. Mami held meeting with Oktay Asadov
ASTANA. April 27. KAZINFORM Senate Speaker Kairat Mami has held a meeting with Chairman of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Oktay Asadov today. He arrived in Astana to participate in the work of the second plenary sitting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking countries which is held in the capital of Kazakhstan, the press service of the House informs.
K. Mami noted the importance of the Astana forum for further development of inter-parliamentary relations that were an integral part of the Kazakh-Azerbaijan relations.
'We are grateful to Azerbaijan for their contribution to development of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking countries that was established on the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan,' the Speaker said.
Besides, K. Mami noted that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan were active participants of the OIC which Kazakhstan was presiding over this year. He also thanked Azerbaijan for supporting the initiative of Kazakhstan to hold the 38th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC member countries in Astana this year.
O. Asadov, in his turn, expressed confidence in successful presidency of Kazakhstan in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking countries and invited K. Mami to visit Azerbaijan.
