Senate’s Speaker to meet with UN Secretary-General in NY
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Speaker of the Senate Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has arrived in New York, where he will meet with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and a number of senior officials of the organization.
Speaker of the upper house of Kazakhstan's Parliament, Head of secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions K. Tokayev will make a presentation of the congress at the United Nations office, the press service of the Senate reported. V Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions will be held in Astana on June 10-11. The event will be dedicated to the dialogue of religious leaders and politicians in the name of peace, development and security. During his visit to the United States Kassym-ZhomartTokayev will also hold meetings with the heads of major foundations including the president and CEO of Asia Society Josette Sheeran, president of Eurasia Group Ian Bremmer, Nassir Al-Nasser - the United Nations High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, Secretary-General of the World Conference of Religions for Peace William Vendli, and representatives of religious communities of New York.
