TANA. August 20. KAZINFORM /Olzhas Askarov/ The CIS Observer Mission has come to a definite conclusion: the Senate elections have been held in accordance with the country's legislation, were transparent and confirmed the process of strengthening democracy in Kazakhstan.

Head of the CIS Observer Mission, Chairman of the Executive Committee-Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev has made it public at a briefing.

"Our observers were present at all meetings of electors, watched how these meetings were held, issuing ballots, the voting process, how the boxes were opened and voting counting. I have a chance to monitor it in Astana, other colleagues - in the country's regions. And I want to especially outline, that not only our observers, but representatives of the Kazakh and foreign mass media saw this procedure. This demonstrates transparency of the elections process," S.Lebedev noted.

"Hence our mission has come to a definite conclusion: the Senate elections have been held in accordance with the country's legislation, were transparent and confirmed the process of strengthening democracy in Kazakhstan," the CIS Executive Secretary emphasized.
