Senate deputies attended 124th meeting of Inter-Parliamentary Union in Panama
ASTANA. April 25. KAZINFORM Deputies of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Yermek Zhumabayev and Garifolla Yessim took part in the 124th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Panama (Panama).
According to the Senate's press service, the event was attended by the delegates from 120 countries of the world who discussed the issues of parliamentary influence in achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, including the role of legislations in ensuring sustainable growth in natural resources management, agricultural production and demographic policy.
The participants focused also on the agenda of the 126th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union scheduled for 2012 in Kampala (Uganda).
Within the trip the Kazakh parliamentarians met with the deputies of the Senate of France and Spain and the Executive Secretary of the Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
