Seminar on preparation of Kazakhstan to Universal Periodic Review to be held in Astana

ASTANA. August 4. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ "Final seminar on preparation of Kazakhstan to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) will be held in Astana on August 12", Head of the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Ilyas Omarov has said today.
Representatives of the state bodies, NGOs, international organizations and diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan take part in the seminar.
"The UPR is a new mechanism of the Human Rights Council, observing the policy in the field of human rights of all 192 UN member states once in four years. Kazakhstan will pass the UPR within the 7th session of the UN council on human rights in February 2010", I.Omarov said.
