Seminar on mass media self regulation held in Vienna

The seminar was held under the support of Kazakhstan that chairs the OSCE Mediterranean Contact Group this year.

"Guide to mass media self regulation"- a publication, prepared by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, was presented at the seminar. A discussion on interrelation between the freedom and responsibility of the media was held within the seminar. The experience of a range of the OSCE member states in the media self regulation was presented as well.

Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the OSCE Kairat Abdrakhmanov and OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Miklos Haraszti delivered speeches at the opening of the seminar. Kazakh delegation consisting of the representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Information and "Khabar" Agency took part in the seminar.
