Seminar on conflict resolution and mediation technics for prosecutors starts today

ASTANA. KAZINFORM The seminar on conflict resolution and mediation technics for prosecutors starts its work today in Astana. The two-day event is organized by the OSCE Centre in Astana, Advanced Studies Institute under the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan.

This two-day training seminar for regional prosecutors is aimed to improve the quality of prosecutors' knowledge of dispute resolution and conflict prevention technics, as well as main theories and practical approaches in conflictology. The training will also touch upon the issue of reconciliation and mediation as alternative to criminal prosecution. The training will be conducted by experts from the Russian Federation and local mediators from Kazakhstan.

The seminar is part of the Centre's long-term efforts to support ongoing criminal justice reform in Kazakhstan by providing training opportunities aimed at enhancing professional knowledge and skills of law enforcement agencies' officials, the OSCE Centre in Astana said.
