 Kabi Okaevich Okaev is an extraordinary person, not only because he was able to achieve high academic nodes, become an academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher School of Kazakhstan, Academician of International Eurasian Academy of Economics, professor, doctor of economic sciences. The amazing ability of creative thinking, open-mindedness, and the ability to see problems and find innovative approaches to solving them those qualities distinguish him. High, the genetic quality start incorporated in him, and his name Kabi translating from Arabic means "strong, resilient and powerful." For fifteen years of acquaintance with him, I was repeatedly convinced of it. Kabi Okaevich marks a few episodes and the factors of his life that cardinally affected on his future and allowed him to move boldly towards achieving the goals. First of all, his parents endued him with a good health, and secondly, instilled love for work. We are all had childhood, so much depends on what and how our native people taught us.
Kabi Okaevich has particular relevance to his roots, and he does not hide it. He absorbed and nurtured a positive mood and active vitality from his native land. He was born in Uteri village of Tengiz district, Guriev region (now Kurmangazy district of Atyrau region). Kigash River that borders with Russia is dear to him, because the abundance of fish and rich fauna helped a teenager Kabi and many other people to endure all the hardships of severe pre-war years. Here at the first time in his life he learned to work and tasted the price of labor earnings.

The real school of courage K. Okaev passed while serving in the army. And he served four years in Bratsk city of Irkutsk region. Here he graduated from high school, which became his first step on the road to knowledge, and the thrust to it was indestructible. It is like a thirst for the traveler who dreams of life-giving drink from the source, and plenty to enjoy such cherished moisture. In short, a boy from a peasant family wanted to escape to the vast expanses of life and to look beyond the distant horizon. And he did it. He became an educator, scholar and public figure. It is required an enormous work.
When he was a student of the Kazakh State University, Kabi Okaev showed remarkable tenacity all days long studying the basics of science and, as a result, he became one of the few Leninist scholars. During his student years he began actively engage in scientific activities: presented reports at scientific conferences, participated in scientific discussions. When he graduated from Kazakh State University, he was left in the alma mater. From that moment, he was bound only with higher school, where he passed the basic steps of scientific and educational "ladder".

He started as assistant, twenty-one years he worked as Dean for two large departments - economic planning and accounting and economic, for thirty years continuously headed the department. Today Kabi Okaevich Okaev is Professor of Economics of the Kazakh Economic University named after T. Ryskulov. Thus, he elected the Kazakhstan School of Economics as a matter of life, Kabi Okaevich has efficiently and selflessly worked in this field for 50 years.
Many events, efforts, emotions left behind before he became a respected scientist and teacher. But one thing he really remembered. Not everyone can meet teacher, who can give you a part of your soul and try to pass a legacy of his best qualities. In this regard, he was very lucky. By his own admission the name of the first rector of the first in the history of Kazakhstan's higher economic institution - Alma-Ata Institute of National Economy Alexander Ivanovich Belov firmly remained in his memory. His truly paternal care to Kabi Okaevich predetermined the whole of his further career. Fortunately, the student did not disappoint the Teacher.

Okaev's scientific career successfully developed. He was Candidate of Science and then Doctor of Science. And his another facet is an excellent teacher. I think that the professor is a well-deserved title that he carries because he has done a lot for the emergence of economic specialists and their training. His influence is great on the sphere, where scientific and intellectual potential of the state forms and replenishes. He managed to create a powerful base for the formation of the department of scientific personnel, dozens of authors of doctoral and master's dissertations passed through it.

 Among them are the current Prime Minister Karim Massimov, Deputy Chairman of JSC "Fund" Samruk-Kazyna Timur Kulibayev, Rector of the Kazakh National Technical University named after K. Satpayev Zheksenbek Adilov, doctor of economic sciences Bekbolat Aubakirov and many others.
Under the leadership of Kabi Okaev brightest galaxy of highly qualified specialists, economists and managers, among them prominent public figures, eminent scientists, the organizers of production, business entrepreneurs were prepared. His pupils are currently working in many structures of governance for the benefit of our country.

Kabi Okaevich is not only one of the founders of the famous "Narhoz", but also he is the creator of the scientific school on the reproduction of fixed assets. Currently, his research interests turned to the development of entrepreneurship in the republic, the theoretical and practical aspects of industrial development in market conditions. His personal contacts with famous scientists of many countries contribute to the introduction of new technologies in the economic life of the republic, expansion of inter-institutional linkages.
More than 250 scientific publications including 18 monographs, books and brochures came from his pen. He is an author of methodological developments in modern technology education. He was Chairman of the Editorial Board of the economy "of the Kazakh Encyclopedia". He is currently leader of the group of consultants on the economy of the National Encyclopedia "Kazakhstan".

I want to note that Professor K. Okaev does very much to expand the use of the Kazakh language in the theory and practice of economic science. Under his direct participation and guidance the Russian-Kazakh dictionary of Accountants, "Kazakh-Russian, Russian-Kazakh lexicon","Kazak tili terminderinin salalik tusindirme sozdigi","Ekonomika zhene karzi" were published. In great demand are Professor Okaev's the methodical complex in the Kazakh and Russian languages for a degree in Economics and Management of National Economy, "Economics and Enterprise Management" and "Economy" in many economic institutes and faculties. For 13 years under the editorship of Kabi Okaevich Publishing House "BIKO" publishes weekly "Accountant's bulletin" in Kazakh language and its importance can hardly be overestimated.
  As we see, Graduate School for him is a matter of honor and the meaning of life. It is quite natural that government marked by high awards his labor achievements: the Order of the Badge of Honor, medals and diplomas. He was recognized as an excellent pupil of Higher Education, he was awarded the title of «Kazakhstan Yenbek sinirgen kizmetkeri», but the most important award, and his happiness is love of his fellow countrymen, friends and relatives. Kabi Okaevich Okaev is Honorary Citizen of Kurmangazy district, Atyrau region.

He is happy because his two sons decide their fate themselves. For example, the firstborn Yermek is a head of the publishing house "BIKO" that is well recognized in Kazakhstan and is a decent niche in the information area of the country now. The younger son Erkeblan works in business and at the same time works on his doctoral dissertation. The eldest daughter in law, Galia is an economist and psychologist by training, who brings to family life an inexhaustible wealth of religious values. And the youngest daughter in law Altynay supports the scientific tradition of family. She is a Candidate of Economic Sciences and at the same time "Master of the economy". She works in the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi.
This family has special "climate": understanding, very sensitive and careful attitude to each other. It is merit of his faithful wife Fazila Amirgalievna, care of hearth and home, the children and grandchildren laid on her shoulders. Today seven grandchildren grow in their family, and they love them. Although Okaevs has no secret of their special relationship to the most senior among them to the granddaughter Bayan. Probably she left home early. Despite her youth, she studied at the English College, and educated in France as well. Today, she continues to study at Edinburgh University in Scotland, where she receives the profession of psychologist. We can safely say that Bayan is a polyglot, because she fluently speaks six languages.

 We remember the past to check the present and especially the younger generation need it, because the universal law is the law of succession. The present is a sprout from the future! The conventional wisdom says that every person should have his ideal, to whom he strives all his life. And such guide, lodestar in the fate of young people who chose the path of an economist is Kabi Okaevich Okaev.
