Security issues of energy infrastructure to be discussed at OSCE headquarters

ASTANA. February 9. KAZINFORM /Timur Bekturganov/ Two-day seminar devoted to the issues of provision of security of the critical energy infrastructure from terrorist attacks will be opened in the headquarters of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on Thursday, February 11.

As the press service of the Organization reports, about 200 international experts will take part in the seminar, closed to the media and scheduled for February 11-12 in Vienna. Ex-Vice Chancellor of Austria, former Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe Erhard Busek, Representative of the US Department of Energy William Bryan and others are among them.

The participants of the workshop will discuss the prospects for strengthening interaction and efficiency increase of the security system of the energy infrastructure in the OSCE region. The issues of prevention of terrorist attacks and mitigation of consequences of possible terrorist attacks at energy facilities will be discussed as well.
