Security Council discussed information and transportation security

ASTANA. June 3. KAZINFORM President's Aide-Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin has chaired today a session of the Expert Council of the Security Council.

The agenda of the meeting included issues related to information security of Kazakhstan, the state and measures on ensuring transportation security and threats to Kazakhstan's transit potential.

The experts shared their views on the problems connected with global tendencies in information security. In their opinion, the main aspect of information security is strengthening and development of informational recourses, improvement of their internal content, and also provision of Kazakhstan's cybernetic security. During the conversation the experts emphasized importance of the government's participation in stimulating development of national media industry, satellite, digital radio and TV casting and Kazakhstan Internet.

Special attention was paid to ensuring transportation security. Development of transport-communication infrastructure of the country is one of the major aspects of Kazakhstan's stability. Transport security amid modern geopolitical conditions becomes the issue of national importance.

According to the experts, Kazakhstan's neighborhood with the republics providing large sale markets increases Kazakhstan's transit potential as an important geopolitical region connecting East and West, North and South. The scientists stressed necessity of developing and upgrading domestic transport infrastructure and transport-logistics system as well as neutralization of the current threats of the country's transit potential.
