Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus visits Kazakhstan

ASTANA. July 12. KAZINFORM The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus visited Kazakhstan from July 9 to July 11. Following his visit to Kazakhstan he will be travelling to Turkmenistan. In Kazakhstan he met with the Ministers of Defense and Environmental Protection to discuss Kazakhstan's plans for the development of security and emergency response capabilities in the Caspian Sea.
Secretary Mabus is the 75th Secretary of the Navy. He was nominated by President Obama as Secretary of the Department of the Navy on March 27, 2009 and sworn in on June 18, 2009. He is a former Governor of Mississippi and U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, the press service of the US Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan said.
