Second cycle of Individual Partnership Action Plan of Kazakhstan with NATO adopted

BRUSSELS. January 20. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ A session in the format "NATO plus Kazakhstan" was held Tuesday during the visit of the Kazakh delegation headed by Kazakh Deputy Defense Minister General Lieutenant Bulat Sembinov to Brussels. The second cycle of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) of Kazakhstan with NATO was approved and adopted at the session.

The IPAP harmonizes all aspects of the practical interaction and dialogue of Kazakhstan with NATO. The major part of the plan is aimed at strengthening regional and international security, deepening the process of modernization of the armed forces, cooperation in the field of science, civil emergency planning, ecology, and struggle against terrorism.

B.Sembinov held a meeting with Deputy Secretary General of NATO Claudio Bisogniero, Assistant Secretary General for Operations Martin Howard, NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons, NATO's military committee chairman Giamcampo Di Paolo, heads of the diplomatic missions of the USA and Turkey to the NATO as well. The attendees were informed of the planned exhibition of arms, military equipment and military-technical equipment KADEX-2010.
