Sec of State-Foreign Minister K.Saudabayev and Special Assistant to US President Michael McFaul meet in Astana
ANA. May 7. KAZINFORM Kazakh Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev has held a meeting with Special Assistant to the US President Michael McFaul in Astana on May 7.
The sides confirmed interest of the two countries in further strengthening and expansion of the Kazakh-American strategic partnership; the Kazakh MFA's press service reports.
K.Saudabayev and M.McFaul considered the course of implementation of the agreements on cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats reached at the highest level. There was noted importance of common efforts on ensuring security in Central Asia and Afghanistan stabilization.
Michael McFaul expressed appreciation to President Nursultan Nazarbayev for his efforts in coordination with heads of the USA and Russia in regulation of the situation in Kyrgyzstan.
Touching upon interaction within the framework of the OSCE, the parties discussed the issues of preparation and holding of the Summit this year on the initiative of President N.Nazarbayev.
