Search for Russian diplomat missing in Greenland dropped

MOSCOW. January 11. KAZINFORM. The search for Russian diplomat Adel Borisov reported missing in Greenland, has been dropped, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed Monday. On January 9 the Danish authorities notified the Russian embassy in Copenhagen that the search for the worker of the Russian Consulate in Frankfurt Am Main Adel Borisov, believed missing in Greenland, was dropped, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

A decision to drop the search was made following the Danish side's conclusion that all possible means of search for the missing Russian diplomat had been exhausted four days after the search for him began.'' In the near future the Danish competent bodies intend to officially declare Borisov missing," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The Russian embassy in Copenhagen lodged an inquiry with Greenland's authorities, asking to provide full information about the search operation for the Russian diplomat conducted in Greenland.

The 24- year old diplomat Adel Borisov, who is on staff of the Russian Consulate in Frankfurt am Main, arrived in Greenland on a New Year vacation. The diplomat never returned to his hotel after he had gone for walk in the neighbourhood of Kulusuk on January 3; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
