SCO Summit wraps up in Beijing
BEIJING. June 7. KAZINFORM The SCO Summit came to an end on Thursday (June 7) in Beijing.
In followup of the Beijing Summit leaders of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan signed a wide range of documents, including the Beijing Declaration, the SCO member states' Cooperation Program on fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism for 2013-2015.
As was expected, Afghanistan was accepted as the observer state at the summit. Turkey was granted the SCO dialogue partner status.
A decision on the SCO Secretary General and Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terror Structure (RATS) was made.
Upon completion of the Beijing Summit China handed over the SCO chairmanship to Kyrgyzstan.
After the SCO Summit, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is expected to leave for Astana on Thursday (June 7).
