SCO Summit kicks off in Tashkent
TASHKENT. June 11. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ The X session of the SCO Council of Heads of State has started its work in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
As earlier informed, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and delegation members arrived in Tashkent on June 10. The Kazakh leader also held the meetings with Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
The SCO heads of state will discuss several topical regional issues connected with the current situation in the world and in the region in a narrow and extended format. Besides, they will consider the main results of the SCO activity over 2009 and plan orienting points of a joint work on cooperation development within the framework of the Organization.
It is necessary to note that after the Tashkent summit completion the SCO presidency will pass to Kazakhstan.
