SCO Security Council Secretaries hold meeting in Moscow

MOSCOW. May 21. KAZINFORM /Arnur Rakhymbekov/ Meeting of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO member states was held Wednesday in Moscow.
The Kazakh delegation was headed by Advisor to President ? Secretary of the Kazakh Security Council Kairbek Suleimenov. At themeeting chaired by the Russian side the participants spoke for the necessity to build up anti-drug cooperation with the SCO and successive realization of the agreement on joint anti-drugs-traffic fight.
Also the participants spoke for involving the SCO observers into the joint fight against terrorist and drug threat for the sake of regional security.
Russian President Dmitri Medvedev received the Heads of the Security Councils. ?I am sure that we have just discussed urgent security issues of our countries and the region, where the SCO works?, he said. According to D.Medvedev, the issues of crime fighting are among the challenges that the SCO member states face. He noted that the economic crisis affects the security situation as well.
K.Suleimenov also held a bilateral meeting with Head of the Chinese delegation ? Minister of Public Security of China Meng Jianzhu. The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral interaction in the sphere of regional security.
