SCO leaders to hold VIII session in Yekaterinburg, June 15-16

ASTANA. June 8. KAZINFORM The VIII session of the Council of Heads of the SCO member countries will take place June 15-16 in Yekaterinburg, the press service of the Kazakh MFA informed.
Presidents of the CSO member states, the SCO observers and guests from the chairing countries ? Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, standing bodies of the UN, CIS, CSTO and EurAzEC will take part in the summit. The results of Russia?s SCO chairmanship in 2008-2009 will be discussed at the meeting.
The participants of the summit will also talk about the decisions on requests of Belarus and Democratic Socialistic Republic of Sri Lanka for the status of partners in the CSO dialogue and candidates to the position of the CSO Secretary General and Director of the RATS Executive Committee.
Upon the results of the summit the high officials will sign the Yekaterinburg Declaration and pass a joint communiqué and other documents, aimed at ensuring the regional and global security.
