SCO is gaining political clout and economic power - N.Nazarbayev

The meeting was attended by Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyz Republic - Djoomart Otorbaev, Russian Federation - Dmitry Medvedev, Tajikistan - Kohir Rasulzoda, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov, SCO Secretary-General Dmitry Mezentsev and the Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) Zhang Sinfen.

"Meeting of heads of governments has been held in our country for the third time. The organization is gaining political clout and economic power," said President.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the Council of Heads of SCO member states in Ufa plans to approve the Development Strategy until 2025. The President of Kazakhstan emphasized that our country supports the initiative on establishing the SCO Development Bank which will be essential for the further expansion of the organization.

In addition, the development of transport cooperation has been named one of the most important areas of cooperation within the SCO. According to Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan is implementing a number of important transport projects that will focus not only on the enhancement of the national economy, but the activation of bilateral trade and business relations across the region.

"Our country has initiated the new economic policy "Nurly Zhol - The path to the future." We will build roads and railways running from Astana to all regions of the country. We will construct two seaports on the Caspian Sea. In my opinion, the new transport facilities will be used by all members of the SCO," said the President of Kazakhstan.
