SCO, bright example of peaceful co-existence of nations, religions, civilizations and cultures
BEIJING. September 9. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ "It is safe to say today that over the past ten years since its foundation the SCO has established itself as an influential international structure that actively contributes to peace and development of the region, withstands challenges and modern threats," Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov stated today.
"Growing extremism, separatism and terrorism or "the three evil" cause greater concern amid stability and security challenges on the global and regional levels. We share China's position on the need of large-scale counteraction to these extremely dangerous phenomena," Kazykhanov said. I think our joint efforts within the SCO set the example of such close cooperation between our nations."
"Kazakhstan regards the SCO as one of the priorities of its foreign policy. As the SCO chair country Kazakhstan held 120 joint events aimed at strengthening of the Shanghai spirit, balanced development of security, economic and humanitarian cooperation, improvement of mobility and the Organization's capability to respond promptly to the events occurring in the world and region. The commemorative SCO Summit held this June in Astana was the culmination of Kazakhstan's SCO presidency. The forum summed the SCO activity results and defined priority tasks for the future. I am confident the current SCO chair country, China, will exert maximum efforts for the implementation of the summit agreements that would contribute to further strengthening of the Organization as a key component of the international architecture, a factor for safeguarding of peace and enhancing of security, and joint harmonious development both in the region and world," the Kazakh FM resumed.
