Scammers defraud pensioner for KZT 1.5 million in Akmola rgn

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - In Akmola region an 84-year-old pensioner was tricked by two fraudsters who pretended to be outreach workers, the press service of the Akmola region Internal Affairs Department reports.
According to the police, on March 29 the woman aged 84 informed that two persons, pretended to be outreach workers, fraudulently took possession of KZT 1.5 million (about $8,200). According to the press service of the regional IAD, during the search operations two suspects were detained: a man born in 1989 and a woman aged 24. Criminal case has been initiated. The suspects are put to a temporary detention facility.
