Saudi Manuscripts Exhibition ongoing in Riyadh

In Riyadh city, the Saudi Manuscripts Exhibition continues to stand out as a global cultural icon, showcasing a human heritage spanning over 1,200 years, SPA reported.

Blending historical richness with modernity, the exhibition underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to preserving global cultural heritage and promoting intercultural dialogue.

Organized by the Libraries Commission, the exhibition acts as a global hub for dialogue and innovation, uniting visitors and researchers through 22 workshops and 30 panel discussions that highlight the latest techniques in manuscript preservation and restoration, and fostering collaboration among global experts.

The exhibition provides an engaging experience for culture enthusiasts, blending authenticity with creativity. With over 2,000 rare manuscripts on display, including records from the cultural and intellectual history of the Arabian Peninsula, ancient copies of the Holy Quran, scientific, medical, and astronomy texts, and manuscripts from the First Saudi State, the exhibition exemplifies the richness and universality of human heritage.

It aims to showcase the Kingdom's prominent role in preserving and safeguarding cultural heritage, while promoting awareness about its civilizational value.

Moreover, it underlines the Libraries Commission's endeavor to leverage technology to preserve manuscripts and establish connections with specialized international institutions.

Earlier, Ryadh hosted the "Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams" exhibition,  inaugurated by Faisal Bafarat, CEO of the General Entertainment Authority, at the Saudi National Museum, as part of the Riyadh Season festivities.
