Saudi Arabia considers Kazakhstan as reliable partner in Central Asia - Prince Nayef

ASTANA. January 24. KAZINFORM Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Kairat Lama Sharif met yesterday with Second Vice Prime Minister-Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country, Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz.

At the meeting the Ambassador extended an invitation to the Prince on behalf of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan to pay an official visit to our country this year as well as a letter of gratitude from Internal Affairs Minister Serik Baimaganbetov for warm reception in September 2010 in Riyadh.

As is known, within this visit of the Kazakh Minister to Saudi Arabia, the governments of both countries entered into an agreement on cooperation in fight against terrorism, organized crime, illegal traffic in drugs and psychotropic substances and their precursors aimed at raising the level of bilateral interaction in security to a new level and serve as a legal basis for further contacts of the law-enforcement structures of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia. Prince Nayef thanked for the invitation and expressed his readiness to visit Kazakhstan in 2011.

The parties focused also on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation. Kairat Lama Sharif informed of Kazakhstan's intention to activate the relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia up to strategic partnership level within its chairmanship in the OIC.

Prince Nayef noted that Saudi Arabia considered Kazakhstan as its reliable partner in Central Asia and intended to develop interaction in all spheres. "Agriculture, investment and scientific-technical spheres are priority directions for cooperation", he stressed.
