Saudabayev, Ordzhonikidze discussed OSCE-UN cooperation
ASTANA. March 3. KAZINFORM. Prospects of developing interaction between the OSCE and UN were discussed at the meeting of Secretary of State - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev and Deputy Secretary-General of the UN, UN Special Representative in Geneva Sergey Ordzhonikidze on March 3; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA's press service.
S. Ordzhonikidze thanked Kazakhstan for active participation in the UN activity in such spheres as disarmament, dialogue of civilizations, regional cooperation and environmental protection.
He congratulated Kazakhstan on the OSCE presidency and said it's a big and responsible mission important for Kazakhstan's image. He expressed hope for successful implementation of that mission by Kazakhstan.
The parties considered the prospects of OSCE-UN cooperation in the course of Kazakhstan's chairmanship. K. Saudabayev invited S. Ordzhonikidze to take part in the OSCE top level conference on tolerance and nondiscrimination in Astana.
