Saudabayev arrived in Tashkent for III Conference of FMs within "CA+Japan" Dialogue
TASHKENT. August 7. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev has arrived in Tashkent to take part in the III Conference of the Foreign Ministers within "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue, Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Office.
In accordance with the agenda of the meeting the parties are expected to discuss the issues of peace and stability in Central Asia and the prospects of further cooperation as well the efforts taken by the countries to ensure economic development of the region.
In particular, the Dialogue participants will focus on the problems of upgrading region's well being, fight with extremism, drug-traffic, ecological rehabilitation of the Aral Sea, interaction in transport-communication and water-energy spheres, joint attraction of CA countries potential in the process of Afghanistan's rehabilitation as well as cooperation in regional security ensuring.
As the Kazakh Foreign Ministry notes, Kazakhstan welcomes continuation of the dialogue by "Central Asia + Japan" formula which embodies moving to another stage of Japan-Central relations.
Noteworthy to say that the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue was initiated by Japan within a series of visits of the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Central Asian counties in 2004. The first conference of the Foreign Ministers was held on August 28, 2004 in Astana and the second one took place on June 5, 2006 in Tokyo.
