SARS cases almost double in N Kazakhstan rgn

North Kazakhstan region has reported a surge in SARS and influenza cases, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
According to the sanitary epidemiological department, the region has recorded 78,728 SARS and 58 influenza cases since the start of the epidemiological season.
SARS cases have risen 1.9 times compared to the previous epidemiological season. 51,174 cases or 65% have been reported in children under 14. 58 cases of type A influenza (H3N2) have been registered since November 13 last year, of which 27 have been reported in Petropavlovsk city, said the department.
