ASTANA. January 31. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandgulova/ The next Asian Games will be held in the city of Sapporo, Japan, in 2015. President of the Olympic Council of Asia Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah has announced it at a press conference in Astana today.
"Sapporo has organized such Games before. It is a rare occasion when a city holds the Asian Games, especially in the country which does not see either ice or snow. It is difficult to find a country in Asia where the Asian Games can be organized", the OCA President noted.
Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah expressed confidence that the next Games will be held in Sapporo at the highest level.
As is known, the first Asiad took place in Sapporo in 1986.
