Samruk-Kazyna became parent company of Samruk-Energo

ASTANA. September 17. KAZINFORM Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund JSC became a 100-percent shareholder of  Samruk-Energo JSC.

In accordance with the Kazakh Government resolution as of August 29, 2012 the shares of Samruk-Energo JSC belonging to KazTransGas JSC were transferred to  Samruk-Kazyna, the company's press service informs.

Samruk-Energo JSC was established in May 2007 and is a part of Samruk-Kazyna. The scope of the company includes production, distribution and sale of electricity and heat, as well as coal mining.

The companies' installed capacity is 7,970.9 MW, or about 40.3% of the installed capacity of power plants in Kazakhstan's unified electric power system. The annual volume of coal mined at the world's largest Bogatyr coal pit is 40% of the total coal production in Kazakhstan
