S. Korea to host global meeting on nuclear co-op

SEOUL. June 28. KAZINFORM South Korea is set to host a global conference on nuclear cooperation ahead of a separate nuclear summit next year, the foreign ministry said here Tuesday; Kazinform refers to China Daily.

The general assembly of the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism will open Wednesday in the southern city of Daejeon, bringing together some 200 representatives from 82 members and four observers including the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Participants will discuss measures to safeguard nuclear materials and protect nuclear facilities during the two-day conference. On-site tours to South Korean nuclear plants are also scheduled; Kazinform cites China Daily.
