S. Korea and Mongolia interested in co-op with Kyrgyzstan in energy sector
Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic Taalaibek Ibraev met with representatives of the business delegation of Korea and Mongolia, Kabar reports.
The Energy Ministry said that Taalaibek Ibraev expressed gratitude to the delegations from the Republic of Korea and Mongolia for their interest in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the energy sector, in particular in the field of renewable energy sources and energy infrastructure.
He noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is interested in attracting investments for the implementation of large energy projects, including solar and wind power plants, and the construction of small hydropower plants for the further development of the energy sector. The minister spoke about the energy system and promising projects in the energy sector.
During the meeting, representatives of companies from the Republic of Korea and Mongolia presented the following projects:
- DOHWA Engineering Co. Ltd: Presentation of the company, one of the largest design and engineering companies in South Korea. The company has experience in more than 6,900 projects in various countries. Representatives of the company expressed interest in cooperating with the Kyrgyz Republic on projects in the field of energy and infrastructure construction.
- HS Solar Energy Co. Ltd: The company presented its experience in the construction of solar energy facilities. In particular, they are engaged in the development and construction of solar power plants of various sizes, and also offer a full range of services for the operation and maintenance of solar energy systems.
Also during the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities for the implementation of joint projects of renewable energy sources: including solar and wind energy projects, the creation of infrastructure for the generation of clean energy.
All parties expressed mutual interest in continuing the discussion and planning specific steps for signing a Memorandum of Understanding or a cooperation agreement.
In addition, the parties agreed to hold a working meeting for a more detailed study of joint projects and further cooperation. Following the meeting, it was decided to continue negotiations with the aim of concluding agreements on cooperation.
It was reported earlier, Kyrgyzstan will implement the first PPP project in the railway sector.
