Russian PM V. Putin: We have already made steps towards establishment of single economic space
ASTANA-MOSCOW. February 16. KAZINFORM We have already made a move towards establishment of the single economic space. Chairman of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Moscow on Monday.
Issues of integration on the post-soviet space, in particular, establishment of the Customs Union, current Russian-Kazakh economic relations as well as the presidential elections in Ukraine were on agenda of the meeting, the press service of the Russian President informs.
"The Customs Union which has started functioning since January1, 2010 was created due to you active participation and support. A part of national functions were delegated to the Customs Commission. In fact, for the first time on the post-soviet territory a supra-national body was founded", V. Putin said addressing N. Nazarbayev. "We have already made a move towards establishment of the single economic space", he added.
Having stressed that "all of these are remarkable milestones in our joint work", V. Putin thanked N. Nazarbayev for his efforts. "I know and remember how You promoted these ideas, initiated these processes and accomplished these objectives", the Russian PM said.
