Russian embargo: Novosibirksk authorities detain 20 tons of apples from Poland heading to Kazakhstan
NOVOSIBIRSK. KAZINFORM - Nearly 20 tons of apples from Poland were detained in Russia's Novosibirsk going to Kazakhstan from Belarus, Russia's agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said October 1.
The freight was detained due to Russia's embargo on food products from the West and European countries. The entering of freight with apples from Poland has violated the legislation of the Russian Federation, said Rosselkhoznadzor.
An administrative case has been launched over the offense, Kazinform refers to AKI Press.
In accordance with the agreement between the Siberian operative customs service and Rosselkhoznadzor's Novosibirsk department, the documents for the quarantine freight were sent to the Siberian operative customs service to issue a decision over failure to comply with the restrictions on bringing goods in the Russian Federation. The quarantine cargo was taken out of Russia to Kazakhstan.
