Russia positively takes victory of Nursultan Nazarbayev

Senior Researcher of the Institute for International Studies of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) Leonid Gusev has said it at the 2nd meeting of the Eurasian network of experts.

"Russia has positively taken the victory of N.Nazarbayev, because we have very close friendly ties with Kazakhstan," L.Gusev noted.

"Besides, Kazakhstan takes active part in all organizations in the CIS space - CSTO, SCO and others. As you know, N.Nazarbayev initiated establishment of the Collective Rapid Reaction Force. Kazakhstan plays one of the important roles in the SCO as well. Beginning from 2000-s Kazakhstan became the third strong player in the SCO," the Russian expert stressed.

"I would like to outline that after an inauguration President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has paid his first visit to Kazakhstan, and this demonstrates significance of the ties between our countries. I am confident that Mr. N.Nazarbayev will pay one of the first state visits to Russia after reelection," he said.
