Russia & Kazakhstan ready to develop tourism in Baikonur
ASTANA. December 26. KAZINFORM - Today in Baikonur under the instructions of President Nursultan Nazarbayev concerning the development of tourism in the framework of EXPO-2017 the Chairman of the Committee of tourism industry of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Marat Yigaliyev has held a working meeting with the Head of the Federal Space Agency of the Russian Federation Oleg Ostapenko, the press service of the Kazakh agency informs.
The meeting included "Space Harbor" investment project presentation. The main objective of the project is to create safe, comfortable and interesting environment for tourists and visitors of the spaceport. The facility will include offices, a hotel and shopping areas.
The “Space Harbor” will have a central transparent dome for watching pilot-controlled rocket launches. The complex will be equipped with various special effects and modern technical surveillance devices.
Baikonur administration has declared its readiness to develop touristic routes to the spaceport. It is planned to attract investors' funds for tourism development in Baikonur.
The parties agreed to carry out a round table in early 2014 and sign the final documents in the sphere of tourism enhancement.
